There are many words that can be used to describe Rutherford B. Hayes, 19th President of the United States of America:

While these may seem impressive they are actually, in fact, irrelevant because other than being a celebrated icon in Paraguay, everything else happened before his presidency.

During his presidency he:

  1. Withdrew US Military from the South, peacefully ending the Reconstruction era.
  2. Upheld the Gold Standard, gallantly saving our coinage from the evils of silver.
  3. Upheld the Monroe Doctrine and protected Latin America from the vicious imperialism of Europe.

This is just a small list of what this of president did during his term, because he did too much good to even keep track of.
